iBlogger is a blog editor from illumineX, Inc. This policy describes the current iBlogger app and its WordPress integration.
iBlogger does not send your account information, blog posts, drafts, analytics, or crash reports to illumineX. The app does not contain advertising or tracking SDKs.
If you voluntarily contact support, illumineX receives your email address, message, and any attachments you send. Support email conversations are retained indefinitely. illumineX does not delete support email conversations upon request. This retention practice does not limit rights that apply under law.
Sign-in takes place on WordPress’s website in Apple’s system authentication browser. WordPress handles your password and any verification steps. iBlogger receives an authorization token and information identifying your selected site. iBlogger does not read Apple Passwords or store your WordPress password.
The app sends authorization tokens, site and post identifiers, post titles, content, and publishing status directly to WordPress to load, edit, save, and publish your posts. Saving a draft sends its contents to WordPress even when it is not publicly published. WordPress controls its service-side storage, retention, and account practices under Automattic’s privacy policy.
iBlogger stores authorization tokens in the device Keychain and keeps local copies of your blog information and downloaded posts. Posting preferences and editor toolbar preferences are stored on the device. A posting credit added to some new drafts can include the device family (such as iPhone or iPad) in the visible post text; you can edit or remove that text before publishing.
To remove a blog’s saved sign-in and cached posts from iBlogger, swipe its row in the Blogs list and choose Disconnect, then confirm. Unsaved edits for that blog will be lost. If removal fails, the app explains what remains and lets you retry. Disconnecting does not delete posts or drafts saved at WordPress, delete your WordPress account, or revoke the app’s authorization at WordPress.
To revoke authorization at WordPress, open your WordPress account’s Security settings, choose Connected applications, and disconnect iBlogger. You can also disconnect each blog in iBlogger to clear its local token and cache. Uninstalling the app should not be relied upon to remove Keychain credentials. Reconnecting downloads the blog’s current posts again. Removal from the app’s database is not a guarantee of erasure from device backups or storage remnants.
For more information, see WordPress’s guidance on third-party applications.
Existing posts may contain images, video previews, or links hosted by WordPress or other websites. Viewing that content or following a link can contact the relevant host, which receives normal network request information such as your IP address and the requested URL. Those hosts apply their own privacy policies. This release does not provide image or video uploading.
For questions about this policy, contact [email protected]. Please do not send passwords or verification codes. For WordPress account or server-content removal, use WordPress’s account and content controls.
The current published policy is available on the illumineX privacy page (or elsewhere on this page).
We will update this policy when the app’s data handling changes.
For apps not specifically mentioned here, note that illumineX makes consumer apps for App Store and direct download (for Mac).
We plan to revise our privacy policy to provide a more comprehensive description of our thoughts on privacy. In general, we like the Apple Privacy Policy and plan to model our new policy on theirs. Our consumer products tend to be simpler, so in general we collect no customer information at all, apart from contact information which you provide voluntarily.
illumineX also make custom bespoke software for enterprise, government, and other clients (typically mid sized business and occasionally non-profits). The privacy policy of those applications are determined by the application owners.
illumineX is ready to help you build your next generation integrated mobile and cloud solutions—both internal enterprise and customer-facing.
